The short version: this site does not track you. There are no cookies and no analytics. The only thing we get is what you type into a form and send.
Who runs this site
This site is Strictly Positivity, run by one person. When this page says “we,” that is who it means. If you have a question, email Chris@strictlypositivity.com.
What we collect
If you sign up for the newsletter
We get your email address. It goes to Beehiiv, the service that sends the newsletter. That is all we get.
If you fill in the reflection form
We get whatever you type. The form asks for your email. It also asks, only if you want to answer: your first name, what you thought of the book, which belief meant the most to you, whether you tried a practice, and whether you would like to hear about a founding group.
We will not quote you in public unless you tick the box that says we may. If you leave it unticked, only Chris reads what you wrote.
One thing to know: if you tick the box about the founding group, your email is also added to the newsletter list. If you do not want that, leave the box unticked. You can unsubscribe at any time.
If you buy something
The Buy button sends you to Stan.store. That is a different website. You pay there, not here. Stan takes your card details and follows its own privacy policy (opens in a new tab). Your card details never touch this site. We get a record of what you bought, what it cost, and how to reach you.
When you visit
Netlify hosts this site. Like every web host, it keeps basic records, including your IP address. This keeps the site working and safe. It is not used to follow you around.
What we do not do
- We do not use cookies.
- We do not use analytics. None at all.
- We do not use ad trackers or social media trackers.
- We do not save anything in your browser.
- We do not sell your information. Not now, not ever.
Why we use what we collect
- Your email: to send you the newsletter and news about the book, the journal, and the practice.
- Your reflections: to make the work better, and to quote you only if you said we could.
- Your order: to send you what you bought, to help if something goes wrong, and to keep the records the law asks for.
We never use your information for ads. We never hand it to anyone else, apart from the services below, unless the law makes us.
Who else sees it
Three services help run this site:
- Netlify for hosting and forms
- Beehiiv for the newsletter
- Stan.store for the shop and payments
Each one has its own privacy policy. All three are based in the United States. If you write to us from another country, your information is handled there.
How long we keep it
- Newsletter: until you unsubscribe.
- Reflections: for as long as they are useful. We delete them if you ask.
- Orders: for as long as the law says we must.
What you can ask for
Every newsletter has an unsubscribe link. It works right away.
You can also ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email Chris@strictlypositivity.com and we will do it. Asking will not change how we treat you.
Where you live may give you extra rights, such as under GDPR in Europe or the privacy law in California. We will follow them either way.
Children
The book is written for a wide range of ages. This website is not made for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect anything from them. If you think a child under 13 has sent us something, email us and we will delete it.
Changes to this page
If this page changes, the date at the top changes too. We will mention any big change in the newsletter.
