This site should work for everyone. If it does not work for you, tell me, and I will fix it.
Where things stand
This site meets most of WCAG 2.1 Level AA. That is the common standard for making websites usable by everyone. It does not meet all of it yet. The parts it misses are listed below, so you do not have to hunt for them.
What has been done
- Every text color has been measured against its background, so the text is easy to read.
- A “Skip to content” link comes first, so you can jump straight past the menu.
- Headings run in order, so a screen reader can move through the page section by section.
- You can always see where you are when you move around with the Tab key.
- Every box you type into has a proper label.
- The sign-up message is read out by screen readers.
- Icons that are only decoration are hidden from screen readers. Pictures that carry meaning have a text description.
- If your device is set to reduce motion, the site moves less.
- The site still reads properly with JavaScript turned off.
What is not fixed yet
The thin gold lines
The thin gold lines between sections are faint against the black background. They are only decoration and carry no information, so nothing is lost if you cannot see them. I am looking at this.
No outside testing
Everything above was checked by measuring the site and reading its code. No outside expert has tested it. Nobody who uses a screen reader every day has tested it either. That kind of testing matters more than my own checks, and it has not happened yet.
Tell me what is broken
If any part of this site is hard or impossible for you to use, please tell me. I will treat it as a fault to fix, not a favor to grant.
Email Chris@strictlypositivity.com. Tell me which page, and what went wrong. If something stops you completely, say so, and I will send you what you needed another way while I fix it.
Another way to get the same thing
If this site does not work for you, I can send the same material by email, in whatever format suits you. Just ask.
I wrote this statement by checking the site myself, on the date above. I will update it as the site changes.
